Just a quick reminder to all ladies & gentlemen traveling to religious sites like the Vatican and Il Duomo: always wear modest, covered up clothing — no cleavage-booty-belly-shoulder-baring clothing, please! I lived in Italy for a while and I don't know how many times I saw young women (sadly, always American) attempting to walk into churches in the most inappropriate attire. You will be asked to leave.
On hot days when only a strappy dress could keep me cool, I always carried either a lightweight cardi or a scarf that I converted into a top.
