Italy is an amazing city, well worth visiting and exploring, but there are a few things tourists and travelers should avoid or not do when they come to Venezia, Italia.
Don’t – bring too much luggage, having to lug it over all of those bridges and down long streets is not a fun thing to do,
Don’t – be surprised if the locals have different lines than the tourists
Don’t – pay for a toilet, go get a Spritz or a Coffee instead. You have to pay for something make it a treat, not a toilet.
Don-t – expect a cheap gondola ride. they are a bit pricey and you will need to pay more to get him to sing.
Don’t – forget to explore outside the main island of Venice. There are great places to visit around Venice like the Murano glass factories or farther afield in Padova and Vicenza.

Don’t – wear skimpy clothes if you are hoping to get into Basilica San Marco.

Hi there, I've been enjoying watching through your video's. We film 4k natural sight and sound walks in soulful cities, and it's lovely to discover how we can share and learn so much from each other through channels such as this, especially seeing another's viewpoint, thank you Mark.
I got a very awesome and cheap Airbnb in Murano island and took a bus in the morning to Venice, I don’t remember the cost but it’s not bad. Also since I went with 3 friends, we went by vaporetto (sorry for the spelling) to the very end of the island in St mark square and just walked from there to the beginning. And at the end we took two vaporettos to see everything and it’s way cheaper than a gondola.
All good tips. Thanks for sharing. Still reckon Venice has to be on everyone's bucket list. Just use your common sense and you won't fall into tourist traps. Cheers from Down Under
Pigeons are disgusting, pretty much rats with wings I don't know why people would feed them or allow them to sit on you.
When you think about it, Venice requires you to pay in order to shit, a very natural process all mammals do… or at least time all your food and drinks based on when you go out.
So helpful! Going in May with the family- any suggestions on a good gondola company that will actually give you the 40min tour?
Don't feed the pigeons ANYWHERE! Pigeons are just rats with wings, they're gross. Don't you have nasty pigeons wherever you come from?
In the other city of the world, they're all honest with the tourists? In Bergen Torget €50 for three shrimp and a Little bottle of water…ok ok warning only in Venice!!!! Go somewhere else…
Don't stay in Venice; stay in an air bnb in Mestre and take the tram in; then you have a kitchen to cook your own food
Thanks for the tips bud really helpful
Ok, I just asked about the pigeouns in a different video, so.. nevermind.
Anyway, when I visited Venezia it was normal to feed those flying rats, they were even selling 'pigeon's food' (seeds) in the piazza…
I guess it's illegal now.
Your videos on don't sss, creative. But limited. Good luck.
I used to take a daily coffee at Saint Mark Square cafe, just sit at the BAR not at the tables. Prices are different depending were you sit! Table price for a coffee is 10$ at the bar is 2$.
If you sit at the fancy tables the guy with the violin will be available to play for you and the waiters will come to serve you and you will get hit by a very high "cover" charge.
At the bar that's not included in the bill but you also will not get the nice napkins and the nicer chairs.
I visited a few months ago, it’s a very beautiful city and one of my favourite cities I’ve visited so far. My favourite sights were either the Doge’s Palace or the island of Murano to the north. I highly recommend visiting.
yeah, Venice is one of these European towns completely destroyed by mass tourism, where locals don't feel at home anymore but in a giant american theme park. The other two ones are Barcelona and Dubrovnik.
I want a beer with this guy. He seems so nice and down to earth!
Also note that the birds in San Marco will attack you if you have food so don’t bring food into any of the squares at all.
I know! I paid 6 euros for a damn Coca Cola!! I’m still reminding it to my niece( who was thirsty). It still hurts😞
You’re awesome mate, hope I’ll have traveling friend like you
