We came to Lucca almost by accident in 2012 when we were touring Tuscany and it became our favorite place out of all that we saw. We didn't really have a plan, but it is a small enough place you can get around easily and discover things. I think we did everything mentioned here, including renting bikes and riding around the walls and through the streets. In one of the iazzas we were even surprised by a bridal party walking as a group in the sun on their way to the church. We had a fabulous day.
