Yes it is one of the greatest things in Europe: They know that their countries are visited by people from all over the world, hence they provide instructions in various languages. it is not so in USA: where the stupid and archaic mantra of " English only"…. what a shame….. Viva Europa.. Ah and please, do not think that people in Europe will talk to you in English, not… So please learn Italian, learn Spanish, Learn French, Learn Portuguese, learn Polish…etc. a friend of mine once asked me this: how do you call people who only speak on language ? and I said: monolingual ( on language ) and he laughed like crazy and said no way… People who speak only one language are call: Americans.. LOL
Trains I'm Italy are a nightmare, delays all the time, confusing validating prices, no signals in the stations and late notifications of train binari.
Are there toilets on the trains?
excellent! thank you.
Im taking a train from Rome to Naples how do I get a reserved sit? Thanks
Go to Italy at your own risk. The trains are dirty, the conductors rude, the police cruel and the people are harsh, not to mention they all speak to you in italian and will not offer any advice to you.Pathetic railway and trains.Never again
LOL! Unless you're in some backwater town, there is usually somebody at the ticket counter that speaks English.
Good luck with trains in Italy… They're awful
do you have to validate Etickets?? Just purchased ours on the trenitalia website this evening. I printed out the tickets with the PNR. I see a bar code on the tickets. Im guessing it needs to be scanned somewhere. Not sure where or whether it needs to be validated.
I was looking how to take the train not get an Italian speaking lesson!!!!

THANK YOU , YOUR VIDEO IS HELPFUL
Kind of the same as Spanish ..
Lets say you want to go from Venice to Salzburg and you have 3 connecting trains that you need to take. When you buy a ticket from Venice does it cover all the connecting train tickets? Also do you have to validate your ticket everytime you transfer trains? Thanks.
Well done for doing this 🙂
Unless it has changed since the last time I was there, you don't have to validate your tickets if you purchased them through your travel agent.
Can you buy a 5 day pass
What station? Bus or Train??????? Your translation is a little lacking….
You actually don't have to validate your ticket if you're travelling with a train that requires a reservation (AV, IC, Espresso,…) . This because your ticket is only valid on that train at that time. You can do it, it takes 2 seconds, but you don't have to. Basically, only regional trains require a validation. Ciao!
This information only works
IF THEY DO NOT CANCEL THEIR TRAINS as usually happens, and
IF THEIR TRAINS ARRIVE ON TIME, which is not usual.
Also, the officials at the station (MILAN) do not help you.
The tickets office (at MILAN) is crowded…you have to wait more than one hour, and they DO NOT ISSUE a new ticket for you if your train is cancelled. They just send you to an special office for clients services.
If you go to ITALY, rent a car. Is safest.
