Some excellent advice. We visit Rome regularly and stay in Trastevere. An area full of restaurants and nightlife but with quiet side streets with lots of apartments to rent. We shop for food in the shops and market in Piazza di S. Cosimato, cooking for ourselves so we can dine in a really nice restaurant a couple of times a week. A wonderful city with lovely people especially if you try a few words in Italian.
