All my grandparents came from Abruzzo. Love it there. Took my family in 2012, and we stayed in Introdacqua, near Sulmona.

for religion lovers abruzzo is the land of PONTIUS PILATE, in bisenti is the house, SAN GABRIEL ,for culture lovers is the land of OVID (sulmona) , maybe the great latin writer with cicero, also SALLUSTIUS(l'aquila) ,the imperator ADRIAN (his parents from atri) and many italian american, rocky marciano, madonna,dean martin,bruno sammartino etc

Abruzzo a hidden Italian treasure..located opposite Rome but on the Adriatic Side of the peninsula. High mts(SASSO) the national park.
Roman aqueducts still standing in Sulmona square. A wonderful Museum,that holds scientific conventions…a hidden treasure. some of the country's best chefs came from this region and were used by catherine De Medici when she became queen of France..to travel to France and teach the French how to cook…much more….flojo
