David Kong – Portrait of Macerata (VIDEO)
I shot this film of a small hill-town in Italy in order to give the rest of the world a taste of its enthralling natural and anthropological beauty, a simple exercise in non-narrative video technique.
The current city is over a thousand years old and home to one of the oldest universities in Italy.
I love my city
Bellissimo! Complimenti!
bellissimo…
Hi David, thanks for you fantastic video. I live in a small town near Macerata. I love this video and your style. You make me cry when i watch this video with the music. In this video it feeling the smells who are in the city and the atmosphere. You are welcome
Hi, David!
I hope you are still somewhat active on YouTube.
I really want to know if you have a tutorial on properly exposing shots like the ones you did in Macerata.
The Pic Profile I use are the CineStyle Profile, but have serious issues properly exposing even though I am using the same tools you us in Magic Lantern.
My White are always blown out and the black are perfect. Somehow I keep overexposing. When I
try to underexpose a little to avoid the blow out, my entire picture is then underexposed and when I correct in post,
I somehow am losing data by creating noise when I correct my issues in Premiere Pro CC>
Please help?
Thanks!
Sempre nella mia memoria.
gli stranieri rimangono meravigliati della bellezza di macerata e noi maceratesi ?????
David, still waiting for the"how to" on your motorized slider. hope you will post the video on that.
thanks
nice
The University of Macerata asked to some students to make a video, free of charge, in order to publicize a conference that will be held in Macerata next Year. We found a couple of images in your video very beautiful and we inserted them in our video. I am here on behalf of those students and the University to receive from you the authorization to share our video (with a couple of your images) in the website of the conference. We did not receive any kind of remuneration for making our video. Your name will be inserted in the section "CREDITS" just below the video. Thank you so much.
Best Regards.
Luca
Luca

Hi David, I think this video is AWESOME, after seeing this, I've tried to do something on my own, and I'd like to share the result with you, I look forward to it, I totally would like to learn something from you.
Hope you enjoy it.
City of Macerata
i left my heart there <3
wonderful video of Macerata, Le Marche, Italy, our sincere compliments to Mr David Kong.
Can you share technical details of your closing shot? Beautiful video. This would do more to boost tourism to Macerata that any PR brochures could ever hope to! You've given me ideas for an upcoming shoot in Cairo and Ramallah. Thank you.
great work! good tehhnique and beautiful photography.
have a nice life
This is really great. Much more professional looking video than my Canon HF R400 can take. I saw a Canon T3i kit with 18-55 lense and 75-300 lense + kit bag fo 650 CAD$ at bestbuy. Seriously considering itafter watching this!
