I live in Milan but I am moving out as soon as I can. Everything is great except the weather, extreme high humidity (which caused me pericarditis btw) and eternal rain. Unfortunately I AM not the only foreigner who got seriously ill living in Milan( I am an athlete) so good luck there.

You don't need to have a work for accessing the Italian health care system!!! It is not related to the worker wages, it is paid by general taxes!! Your Social Security payments are just for your retirement pension, while the health care system is exactly the same for all the citizens of every nations! The health in Europe is a universal right, not a privilege for few people!!! How do I know it? I am Italian, and I lived 55 years in Milan. 😉
