Phoenicians colonised the old world without single kill.
Wherever they went they installed their alphabet and mathematic theories and their trade brought wealth to them and others.
They were able though to make great armies for having the wealth and the knowhow but never did it they were always defensive or occupied.. but why?

What a Globalist's promotional movie. The real reason Greeks along later on by the Romans that anyone that did not embraced their ethos, their culture, language, philosophy, and of course religion as barbarians. That was the reason that by my ancestors the Land of Israel in rebel to both Greek/ Hellenistic foreign powers as well, as later on the Roman Empire for the single fact that both did indeed approved of other religions as long as we worship theirs and specially their worship of the human body. That is why most of their statues are naked because of their worshiping on themselves.
And for that! We were consider Barbarians. For that also our Temple in Jerusalem was desecrated by Helenistics of Antiochus the IV King of Syria who aimed to rid the world of the annoying (and, to him, peculiar), exclusive, “nonconformist” religion of the Jewish people. In order to unify his vast and racially heterogeneous empire, which stretched as far as the Caspian Sea, he planned to create one religion for all. This was because the Syrians were devotees of the Greek's deities.
The Roman weren't any better their principles were as well dictated by Greek influence into their culture and once again they took control first by placing a non-Jew in the throne of Judea (today Israel) through the illegitimate marriage between him and one of the princess descendants of King David, and by been granted the title of "King of Judea" by the Roman Senate. This of course led to the First Jewish War in 76 ace, and later on to the Second Jewish War on 150 ace.

800 BC.Greek not exist on Sicily.There was Etruscan culture,who trade with all south Etruscan culture and other mikro culture on Greek geography,Greek colony and ancient language,script begin after 580 BC.
Sicily has been kept in poverty by rapacious absentee-landlords and the social policies of the Roman Church who owns 30% of the land and buildings.
Some of the capitals are older, it seems. Way simpler than Doric.
I love Greek ruins and listening to all the histories of the places they went.
