Oh My Goodness!!!! Every time I go to Rome there is a NEW Scam!!!!
The coins from trevi no longer go to the homeless….
How about buying things from stores and the cashier not giving you the exact change. Happened twice to me, please ask for a receipt and count your change.
If the “Roman Gladiators” we’re trying to take my phone of hold me down just say to them ‘lasciami andare, bastardo’ (Italian for: Let go of me bastard’. Lol have fun in Italia!
“Some weren’t even Italian”. None of these scammers are likely to be Italian. But then we wanted the EU.
The fountain tradition is not focused on one fountain. In Europe any fountain, river or body of moving water is used for coins in exchange for wishes.it comes from the pagan practice of offering gold to the souls of underworld in eclxchange for battle and fertility support.
You forgot abt the gypsies
All facts!!! I miss Rome 😩😩😩
Some time ago in Piazza Navona there was even a restaurant with "No frozen food" written on their umbrellas;) How do you think, was this true?
Sounds exactly like walking on Hollywood Blvd! Always say a stern no & walk swiftly!!
Informative video thanks, especially with video examples which isn't very common in videos like these. Can't believe how rude these people are. I also have to agree with what some say in that a person needs to be firm. No need to cause a scene, but do say in a slightly raised firm voice 'No!'. Anything they force on you try to hand back, if they don't take it then just drop it.They clearly don't respect when someone is polite to them, and it'd cut down them trying again and again with you. It's all pretty sad, but where there's crowds there'll be someone trying to get your money.
Your voice is annoying
hey, I just want to say my 1st day in Rome today! Broke all pickpocket "be aware" rules, the worst being leaving my wallet and credit cards on table while I went to bathroom! (Por favor, I was in Portugal, then Spain, then Italy all in ONE day, never so tired in my life) So please forgive me for being stupido. Here are a few observations. Did not see ONE polizie in Roma Termini so forget that help (on day 2, I saw dozens. Perhaps I arrived at their lunch hour. 🙂 ) Did not see many potential pickpocketers: Just some immigrants but aren't we all immigrants? A few older Italian men with coats, newspapers or something over their arms that screamed "shady". Have traveled all over no. Europe , so many Roma in Paris, but did not see ONE in Termini station. To my eyes and ears, no one working in Termini station speaks English (was back today and found several). In Spain and Portugal, people go out of their way to help you. Some workers at R Termini were extremely helpful; I could not have navigated that massive transportation center without their help. Some were 'disinterested' in your welfare. Will keep reporting travelogue as will be in Rome for one month. Ask me questions, PLEASE!!! Hopefully, tomorrow much better. Goodnight, good people.
just got back from Rome. The amount of scammers trying to sell us selfie sticks, water, portable chargers, bracelets. Honestly it really put me off enjoying the experience
I threw 1 coin in 2014 at trevi but I didn't wish for finding love goddamn it thats why I'm single xD
2,500 a week is not 5million
I’m in Rome right now and yesterday at the Spanish steps that guy with the red beard gave us roses telling us they were a “gift” and let us hold them for a bit and then asked us for money. We handed them back 😂
I asked the price of a can of Coke at a vendor in a van near the entrance to the Vatican. The fellow behind the counter immediately pulled out a can and popped it open while advising that it was 9 EU. I told him no thanks and walked away while he screaming at me.
I’m going there in March. I see some Roman gladiators, bracelet, and red haired flower Muslim fucks laying on the ground. Sleeping! Nice video BTW!
thanks great video for teens traveling on school trip
