- 🍽️ There is a lack of diverse dining options in Milan, with many restaurants serving traditional Italian cuisine.
As someone who doesn't live in Milan but visited many times, I can honestly say it's extremely overrated. When people come to visit Italy and choose Milan, I find myself at a loss for words. It's a chaotic mess, an expensive, dirty place.
Like, ok, it's your life, visit the place you want, but maybe consider some of the other beautiful cities and sights we have? There's nothing special about Milan. It's a business center, nothing more. You'll probably enjoy the outskirts more, just saying.
Hey my name is Milan why would you hate Milan 🙁
Why doesn't anybody come to Turin? It's beautiful
Economic and touristic operators and the public administrators of the City of Milano and of the Lombardia Region, don't want for Milano a mass tourism. Their business is made of rich tourist from all over the World, but Milano don't want mass tourist, specially from USA, China, Russia. The prices are discouraging.
This itinerary is like if someone recommended you hang out in Times Square and the Empire State Building the whole time you're in New York. It also completely neglects Milan's unique culinary traditions and contributions to global design (not just fashion….) Milan has the luxury to not rely solely on tourism economically so it is not optimized for people who want the disney-like experience of Venice or the center of Rome. It's where I was born and whenever I return it still has my heart.
Because most tourists go to Rome, Venice and Florence rather then Milan, the city is not as "tourism oriented", less tourist guides and stuff like that, so you kind of have to find all the good hidden stuff by yourself or with help from locals.
Una precisazione che nei commenti non è uscita…. Schiacciare le palle al toro in galleria è per mandare a quel paese la città di Torino.
Rome is the forever capital.
I am so mad. Milan is a wonderful city. There is so much to do and see. Please stop putting down Milan. You obviously don' t have a clue about the wonders of Milano. NEVER call it underrated!!! EVER!!!
my opinion……negative and positive views help to get an idea. But still, it depends on individual decision how they'll appreciate or enjoy the countries beauty and cultures offered. Just visit the place and at the end of the journey, you made your own decision if its still the place for you to live with or to visit again, in spite of good and bad criticism. Bec. everybody's has it own likes, dislikes or priorities. Theres no such perfect countries, complaining to much is very unhealthy way of life. need to adjust, sacrifice and respect their cultures.Embrace the good and bad side of it. Life is short, don't make it shorter. Enjoy life in a positive way….
Basta strumentalizzazione e propaganda politica per Peppe
1 Thing you will hate watching this video: you touching your glasses 30 times!
SAN SIRO Simple !!!!!!!
Milan is for the Real Man
Sorry……. there are plenty of things to do in Milan!!! It is a vibrant City!!! You need to know what to look for…
I was born in Milano too, and when some years ago I met a newly married US couple who told me they were there for their honey moon, I asked them: "And with all the beautiful town in Italy you came right here in Milan? Why???". Yes, Milano is a great town where to work and have fun at night, but… come on, you can find tens of more beautiful places in Italy! I will always be part of Milano, but please, if you look for beauty, don't look at me! 😀
I've been to Milan at least once a year for the last 20 years. Io sono un pazzo tifosi per INTER (crazy Inter fan). What I have learned is that Milan is like New York, you either love it or hate it. I LOVE IT. You hit some high points but the real allure of Milano are the subtle local experiences. Here are eight that immediately come to mind: Apertivo and dinner on the Navigli (all you can eat happy hour buffet and a beer for 11 Euro!), brunch in the Brera district (NW of La Scala). Wandering through the myriad of local markets ( mercato) on a Saturday morning ranging from rare coins and books to full blown flea markets with local foods, antiques and artwork (check on the huge one that engulfs the Navigli area the last Sunday of every month, the party tram! ( you and your guests can rent a street car for a white linen dinner service while it traverses the various routes through and around Milan). Watching the fashionistas as they promenade through the court yard of La Castello Sforzesco on their way to the fashion house runways. Experiencing an Inter match at La Scala Dello Calcio the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with 80,000 of your best friends ( or better yet the local derby!!). Parco Sempione in a light winter snow dressing, train to Varenna and the ferry to the REAL Bellagio. Love it or hate it solo uno Milano! Ciao!
Milano has improved considerably since I first visited. At one time it had the dirtiest air in Europe, The Dumo was black with soot. Milano invented the smoothie, they've been drinking it long before it was trendy. It's changed in many ways. On my second visit, after getting a hotel room I went to visit family in Melegnano. When I returned to the city, late at night, I ran a gauntlet of drag queens. Milanese cuisine is under rated. In my home town of Toronto, Sagat voted Mistura as the best restaurant in my city, owned by Milanese Chef Massimo Capra. It will be returning to Milano in the near future, although I wont necessarily be welcome…I'm a Roma fan. Btw, Calgary dropped out of hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics, the remaining bids are from Stockholm and Milano/Cortina.
I was seriously considering to visit Milan next week However after I watched the video I changed my mind
Milan just sucks. And I come from there.
