If you are driving, I recommmend staying at B&B Ca' Spiga in Laglio. It is a great B&B, good price, amazing breakfast, amazing management, good beds and the views take your breath away. No air conditioning, but typically Lake Como does not need it.

We stayed in Hotel Bazzoni but at the back ,I could not say our bedrooms were anything like the ones shown, the toilet stank , my friend 's room did not have curtains . The receptionist said the bathrooms always smell when there is heavy rain on the lake, and the curtains must be at the cleaners.They did send a cleaner the next day, which made a big difference to the bathroom .No air condioning and with a fire escape outside the window it could not be left open at night. It was one of the worst I have stayed in since the 1970's.Maybe it has recently had major improvements, otherwise look for minimum 4star.
