Things To Do In Catania, Italy In 1 Day (VIDEO)
WHERE IS CATANIA ITALY?
…AND THINGS TO DO IN CATANIA, ITALY
Instead of taking the train, ferry, train combo from Syracuse all the way back to Rome. I took a train from Syracuse here to Catania. Catania is the second largest city in Sicily and located on the East coast of the island.
Since Catania has its own airport I thought I could explore the city for a day then catch a plane directly to Rome.
Yes, I’m a fan of sustainability but sometimes…I need to sustain my sanity.
So we got a little less than 24 hours to hit the bricks and figure out what to do in Catania.
Catania was surprising a beautiful city…but then again which Italian city or town isn't?
Apparently, the bags of water are to deter flies. There has been expressed doubt as to their efficacy.
was just there on a day trip from Palermo and fell in love with the city…have been around Catania but never to Catania and from your video there is so much that i missed…will have to go back there next time and explore more…nice video..next time make sure you have a granita

Love this video Christopher!! 😋
I like how you did a quick room tour – seeing a bidet in the bathroom made me nostalgic! haha! I haven't seen one of those in ages now. I went to Palermo but didn't get a chance to visit Catania. It looks so nice!!
Simply stunning footage. This looks like a wonderful place to explore — the architecture is jaw dropping! One thing I love about Europe is that no matter your personal and religious beliefs, church history is so fascinating, and I love wandering in and out of churches and cathedrals! I definitely understand you being drawn to them and their beauty!
Loved the visit with the old world. Can't wait for your next destinations. Are you two going to be in Toronto or the Quebec region early May or mid-Sept?
Your videos are always put together so well. I don’t know many people that enjoy the sound of a train outside of their room haha!
Nice work! We didn't actually end up spending any proper time in Catania so it was good to see it here. Australians on their first trip to Europe have a term: ABC, or "Another Bloody Church" since it can be very easy to overdose! 😂 With those baroque style ones in Catania (and elsewhere in Sicily) – they all look similar as they were done at the same time, rebuilding in the most fashionable style after an earthquake in 1693. They're all on the World Heritage list 😉
Catania looks like an awesome place to explore! I've never heard of the place. But all these Cathedrals make me happy! Cathedrals and churches are great for seeing architecture and art for free! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Like numerous Cathedrals? Oh! My kind of place! Heard of Catania before but not really familiar with it, good to know through your videos. Truly charming city and simply beautiful. Too beautiful actually! I could go on a tour here all day! Italy in fact, is in my bucket list! The local beer must taste good tho!
Nice video, we had no expectations of Catania – gorgeous! The right amount of history, visuals and we're with you – we can't get enough of Cathedrals either!
Looked like a real cozy hotel room. I love the old streets because I always know there is so much history wrapped up into them. I like the elephant statue. That cannoli looked pretty good, how were they…you know research purposes lol. Churches are everywhere especially in and around Italy and Sicily so I get it.
What your friend said "Enough of the damn churches', that's pretty hard to do around Italy. We're not religious but love their architecture and they often have a very rich history.
