Sorrento is a small town in Campania, southern Italy, with some 16,500 inhabitants. It is a popular tourist destination which can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii, as it lies at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town overlooks the Bay of Naples as the key place of the Sorrentine Peninsula, and many viewpoints allow sight of Naples itself, Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri.

I loved Sorrento. You could stay in this region for a month and still not see it all. Kind friendly locals along with the vistas makes Sorrento a must see.
Sorrento — what's not to love? Been there twice and would return in a heartbeat.

Sorrento is a beautiful town on the Italian coast and we used it as a base for day trips to the Amalfi Coast and Capri.

Nicole, The Continental Hotel is fabulous and on hand for everything. Found The Admiral Hotel at Marina Grande, a few minutes away, a little bit ropey and sun disappears around 2.0pm as it in the shade of the cliff.
