Mark, did you go to Bari when you were in Italy? I heard the Puglia region is beautiful and my grandfather was born in Bari. I'm curious about it.
I live in Lucca, I hope you enjoyed visiting "my" city.
As you said; many underestimate this pearl of Tuscany, which offers much like many typical cities: Siena, Pisa, etc.
I hope to return to Lucca soon, I send you a greeting. ๐๐
Mille Grazie. Great information.

Maybe sacrilege, but I'd rather be in Lucca, Bologna or Siena than Florence — any day of the week.

I'm about to take a two week vacation to Copenhagen, Rome, Sorrento, and Greece!
Some of you Americans are missing out on the best spot in Italy Puglia! Salento is absolutely stunning, Bari is amazing and Polignano a mareย to name but a few spots. BTW the most overrated REGION in Italy is Tuscany my God you Americans have some sort of weird fascination with the most communist region of Italy lol. This is from my an Italian that lives in Vancouver, go figure!
As a roman, if you stay in rome for a lot of days I'd recommend checking out Frascati, Ariccia, Nemi, or other small towns nearby… great vibe, young people (especially at night) and lots of good food.
question on your first trip to Italy do you have to do the big 3 (Rome, Florence, Venice.) or could you just do Rome Pisa Venice?
Spinning on the taurus balls is for luck, not virility/fertility lmao
You know how americans do silly accents in fun to sound faux-French & pseudo-Chinese & whatever. What does it sound like when other non-English speaking nations have fun with how Americans speak.
You know how Americans say french fries & french toast 'n' stuff. What dishes to non-Americans call "American" whatever. I'm guessing that's a thing.
